Preparation for civic integration to apply for a Dutch Paspoort

This course was developed for partners of Dutch citizens, who reside abroad. Over the course, you will prepare for the civic integration exam. After passing the exam at the Dutch embassy / consulate you will receive the Dutch language Diploma level A2. This diploma is required to apply for naturalization and a Dutch passport.

Requirements

In order to do the exam for naturalization, certain requirements have to be met.
The partner of the Dutch citizen:

  • is at least 18 years,
  • does not reside in their country of birth, and their Dutch partner does not live in the Netherlands,
  • has been married for over 3 years,
  • can proof to have resided at the same address as their Dutch partner for at least the last 3 years,
  • can proof to have a Dutch partner with a stable income: at least equal to, or above Dutch minimum wage.

Preparation for your exam

If you wish to apply for a Dutch passport at your consulate or embassy, you can trust in Nederles for your preparation. The course focusses on 3 parts of the exam, as determined by DUO in Groningen (in the Netherlands):

  • Exam 1: Knowledge of the Dutch society
  • Exam 2: Electronic Practical Exam
  • Exam 3: Dutch Oral Exam. This computer exam will be evaluated by a representative of DUO.

For Exam 3, the Dutch Oral Exam, it is expected from the students that they can understand every day questions, and correctly reply to those. The exam will be on a computer. The answers will be graded by a representative of DUO, based on the following criteria:

  • Pronunciation
  • Adequacy
  • Vocabulary and word usage
  • Grammar
  • Fluency
  • Coherency

What can you expect from Nederles?

Nederles The specialised experience .... Nederles is specialised in teaching those outside of Dutch daily life, with 15 days of intensive lessons. The method starts on the level of reading & pronunciation. In an active and enjoyable fashion, the student is trained to the required A2 level. At the conclusion of the course, the student will be familiar with the level of the exam.
